YOU CARRY SUSTAINED RESPONSIBILITY.
People, projects, organisations, family decisions or important transitions depend on you, often at the same time.
SHIN | RECHARGE
Step out of constant pressure and return with greater clarity, presence and capacity to act — through embodied practice, sharpened perception and structured reflection.
An immersive SHIN experience for people carrying responsibility.
WHAT RECHARGE IS
SHIN | Recharge is not a retreat to disconnect from reality. It is a deliberately different environment in which you can step out of habitual demands long enough to see, sense and respond more clearly again.
Instead of adding more information, Recharge works with the way pressure actually shows up: in attention, posture, tension, energy, perception, interaction and decision-making.
Through embodied practice, structured reflection and real-world experiential training, you create space to recognise patterns that are difficult to see while you are still operating inside them — and to practise a more grounded way of meeting what comes next.
The aim is not to escape responsibility. It is to return to it with greater clarity and capacity.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Recharge is designed for individuals, leaders and professionals whose lives require sustained attention, decisions and responsibility — and who notice that simply pushing harder or thinking more is no longer creating additional clarity.
YOU CARRY SUSTAINED RESPONSIBILITY.
People, projects, organisations, family decisions or important transitions depend on you, often at the same time.
PRESSURE HAS BECOME A CONSTANT BACKGROUND CONDITION.
You are still functioning, but you notice that clarity, energy, patience or internal space are becoming less available.
MORE INPUT IS NOT WHAT YOU NEED.
You already understand a great deal intellectually. What is missing is the space to process, integrate and reconnect thinking with perception and action.
YOU WANT TO REMAIN EFFECTIVE WITHOUT BECOMING HARDER.
The goal is not emotional detachment. It is the ability to stay present, perceptive and capable of acting when conditions become demanding.
YOU ARE OPEN TO LEARNING THROUGH EXPERIENCE.
Recharge involves movement, physical awareness, interaction, reflection and practice — not conversation alone.
You do not need to be in crisis. Recharge is for people who want to regain clarity before pressure starts deciding for them.
WHAT YOU TRAIN
Recharge works across four connected capacities. They are not abstract concepts to understand, but qualities to experience, practise and transfer into everyday life.
01 · REGULATION
Recognise how pressure, tension and overload show up in your system. Practise ways of slowing reactivity, restoring stability and creating enough internal space to choose your response.
02 · PERCEPTION
Sharpen awareness of yourself, other people and the environment around you. Learn to recognise signals, patterns and dynamics that become easy to miss when attention narrows under pressure.
03 · DECISION
Explore how posture, attention, timing and internal state influence decision-making. Practise staying present when information is incomplete, conditions change or several demands compete at once.
04 · TRANSFER
Translate what you experience into practical choices, behaviours and personal practices that can support you beyond Recharge — in leadership, work, relationships and demanding everyday situations.
Presence before reaction. Clarity before noise. Action from a grounded position.
THE RECHARGE PROGRESSION
Every SHIN | Recharge follows the same underlying progression: first creating enough space to notice what is actually present, then building clarity and embodied capacity, increasing complexity and finally transferring what matters back into everyday life.
The exact schedule may vary between Recharge editions. The developmental arc remains the same.
01 · TRUTH
Focus: Regulation · Orientation · Honest awareness
Recharge begins by reducing speed and external input. Through movement, breath, body awareness and guided reflection, you establish a clearer baseline: What is present beneath habitual activity? Where are you carrying tension? What receives your attention — and what have you stopped noticing?
Outcome: A more honest sense of your current state and a grounded starting point for the experience.
02 · CLARITY
Focus: Embodied practice · Awareness · Decision capacity
The second stage connects physical structure with attention and action. Embodiment exercises make visible how posture, distance, timing and intention influence the way you perceive situations and respond to them.
You begin moving from reflection into lived experience: not only understanding what stability means, but noticing what changes when you actually create it.
Outcome: Greater awareness of how your state influences perception, decisions and behaviour.
03 · DEVOTION
Focus: Interaction · Pressure · Adaptive response
Once stability has been established, complexity increases. Partner exercises, changing conditions and environmental training challenge you to maintain awareness while interacting, adapting and deciding.
The emphasis is not performance or physical dominance. It is the ability to remain available to what is happening instead of falling automatically into tension, avoidance or habitual reactions.
Outcome: A more embodied experience of staying present, adaptive and capable of acting under pressure.
04 · NOW
Focus: Reflection · Commitment · Transfer
The final stage turns experience into integration. You identify the patterns that became visible, the principles that helped you regain clarity and the practices that are realistic enough to continue after Recharge.
Rather than leaving with a long list of intentions, you define what you will actually carry forward.
Outcome: A focused personal transfer: concrete practices, decisions or commitments for the reality you return to.
THE SHIN DIFFERENCE
Recharge is a practical embodied system for self-leadership under pressure. It connects what is often treated separately: physical state, perception, emotion, decision-making and real-world action.
It is not wellness reframed as leadership — and it is not another intellectual seminar about resilience.
Experience self-leadership as a physical, emotional and strategic practice. How you stand, move, perceive and respond becomes part of how you understand leadership.
Recognise how pressure changes your state and practise creating enough stability to respond deliberately rather than react automatically.
Develop a clearer sense of what strengthens your capacity, what repeatedly drains it and how your attention and behaviour influence the energy available to you.
Sharpen your ability to sense relevant information, tolerate uncertainty and make grounded decisions when no complete picture is available.
Move from insight into behaviour. Recharge repeatedly brings reflection back into concrete movement, interaction, decisions and next steps.
Build practices that support stability and adaptability beyond the Recharge setting — without equating resilience with simply enduring more pressure.
The difference is not that Recharge gives you more concepts. It gives you situations in which you can experience how you actually respond — and practise another way.
WHAT YOU ACTUALLY DO
Recharge deliberately combines different forms of practice. Each creates another kind of feedback — physical, perceptual, relational or reflective.
Simple movement, mobility and awareness practices help make tension, posture, balance and internal state perceptible.
Breathing, Qi Gong-inspired practice and moments of deliberate downshifting create conditions for greater stability and attention.
Selected principles from long-standing Ninjutsu practice introduce posture, timing, distance, movement and adaptive perception as experiential learning fields.
No martial-arts experience is required. The purpose is not fighting technique, but learning through movement and interaction.
Working with another person introduces real-time feedback. Distance, pressure, intention and reaction become visible in ways that reflection alone often cannot reproduce.
Where the setting allows, nature and terrain become part of the practice. Changing surroundings sharpen perception, adaptability and the ability to remain present beyond controlled indoor conditions.
Structured individual and group reflection connects experience with the participant's real context. What did you notice? What pattern appeared? What matters when you return?
The body is not the answer to every question. But it provides feedback the mind alone can easily miss.
YOUR GUIDES
SHIN | Recharge is facilitated by Patrice Motlik and Thomas Plaß. Their work connects real-world leadership and transformation experience with long-standing embodied practice.
The role of the guides is not to create artificial intensity or push participants beyond their limits. It is to establish a clear training environment, offer honest feedback and connect experience with the situations participants actually face outside Recharge.

Co-Founder · Leadership & Transformation
More than 20 years of experience in executive leadership, consulting, transformation and international team leadership. Patrice combines strategic perspective with long-standing Ninjutsu practice and embodied approaches to leadership, perception and change.

Co-Founder · Integration & Execution
More than 10 years of experience in international leadership, transformation, business consulting and the execution of complex initiatives. Thomas connects strategic clarity, structured reflection and embodied practice with the challenge of translating insight into sustainable action.
COMMON QUESTIONS
No. Recharge is designed for people without martial-arts experience as well as for those with previous practice. Selected Ninjutsu-derived principles are used as experiential tools for posture, movement, awareness, timing and interaction — not as combat training.
Recharge includes movement, body-awareness exercises and, depending on the edition and location, outdoor practice. It is not designed as an endurance or performance event. The exact physical requirements will be communicated for each edition before registration.
Please speak with us before joining. Many exercises can be adapted, but suitability depends on the individual situation and the specific Recharge format. We want participants to understand the requirements clearly before committing.
No. SHIN | Recharge is an experiential learning and personal-development format. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment or a substitute for professional health care.
No. Recovery and deliberate periods of rest are part of the experience, but Recharge is fundamentally a structured training environment. The purpose is to develop awareness, regulation, clarity and action capacity — not simply relaxation.
Recharge is designed for people who carry meaningful responsibility in their professional or personal lives: founders, executives, leaders, experienced professionals and individuals navigating demanding periods or transitions.
A particular job title is less important than the willingness to engage honestly with your own patterns and practise through experience.
Yes. The underlying Recharge principles can also be applied in a dedicated team or leadership format. The objectives, intensity and structure would then be designed around the organisation's specific context rather than simply transferring the open Recharge format unchanged.
The exact package depends on the respective Recharge edition. Once a date and location are confirmed, the event module on this page will specify programme scope, accommodation or catering where applicable, arrival and departure information and price.
The next edition is currently being prepared. Date and location will be published once confirmed. You can contact us now if you would like to be informed.
